The XXXIV World Congress of the International Society of Hematology (ISH)
will be held in April 25-28, 2012 in Cancun, MEXICO. It will be a joint meeting
with the LIII Congress of the Agrupación Mexicana para el Estudio de la Hematología
A.C. (AMEH). The ISH was founded in 1946, whereas the AMEH was founded in
1959.
The ISH has held previously three meetings in México, in 1946, 1962 and 1994. In
fact, the very first meeting of the ISH was held in 1946 in both Dallas and México
City; in 1962, the IX World Congress of the ISH was held in México City, whereas
in 1994, the XXV ISH World Congress was held in Cancún, México. On the other hand,
ISH and AMEH have previously held one joint meeting: In 1994, the XXXV Congress
of the AMEH was held together with the XXV Congress of the ISH in Cancún, with an
attendance of 2,600 persons.
The current president of the ISH for the period 2010-2012, Dr. Guillermo J. RUIZ-ARGÜELLES
is actively working with the president of the AMEH for the period 2011-2013,
Dr. Carlos MARTINEZ-MURILLO, to organize this joint meeting. We look forward to another exciting joint meeting of the ISH and the AMEH
